Volunteer to Support Aviation Education

Join the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum where our volunteers are the heart of our mission every day!  If you’re looking for a way to give back to the community, love sharing history and STEM, and of course, are passionate about all things Amelia Earhart, we want you! You’ll make new friends and help support aviation, education, and exploration with our visitors. Volunteer Information

Benefits of Volunteering at the Museum:

  • Special volunteer-only events
  • Recognition in our annual report
  • Invitations to special guest speakers
  • Free admission to the museum (does not include family members)

Volunteer Areas of Interest:

  • Greeter & Shop: Welcome visitors, orient to the building and amenities, support gift shop sales and restocking
  • Museum Docent and Guide: Share the story of Muriel and assist visitors through the Museum’s interactive exhibits
  • Virtual Reality Flight Host: Orient visitors to the VR flight, assist with putting on virtual reality goggles, assist with questions

Volunteer orientation and training will be provided by the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum staff for all new volunteers. To become a volunteer or learn more about volunteer opportunities, please contact the Museum at 913-372-0021 or email [email protected].
