Parking

A free parking lot is available on the east side of the museum. Upon entering the Amelia Earhart Memorial Airport grounds, follow the road north until you see the museum on your left. Under no circumstances are vehicles allowed on the runway. Please remain on the east side of the airport fence for your safety.

Hours of Operation

Wednesday -Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday: 12 pm to 5 pm
Last entry at 4 pm daily.
Closed Monday and Tuesday. 

Holidays: The Museum is open each year on Memorial Day and Labor Day from 10 am to 5 pm. It is closed on Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

ADA ACCESSIBILITY

The Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum is accessible to those of various abilities. Handicap parking is available on the south side of the museum building with a ramp and sidewalk leading to the museum front doors. Restrooms are accessible with changing stations in both men’s and women’s restrooms.

Inside the gallery of the museum, each exhibit has accessible functionality, allowing people of all heights and statures to read the touchpoints.  The mezzanine level of the museum is accessible by elevator.

Arriving By Air?

The Amelia Earhart Memorial Airport (K59) is temporarily closed for a runway expansion. There is no flight access at this time. The runway 16-34 will be replaced by runway 9-27, a 4,000 ft. x 75 ft. concrete runway. For any runway-related questions contact the FBO office at 913-426-5757
